All Hallow's Eve

hAppY haLLowEeeeeN!!!

I've never really decorated for Halloween before, I'm a Christmas gal at heart! But this year I found some cute ideas for inexpensive decorations, so here are some of the things I made/collected this year! I'm looking forward to next Halloween so I can add to my new collection!! :)

Isn't this wreath adorable?? I found the idea from the Woman's Day magazine...it was also featured on one of my fave blogs, All Things Thrifty http://www.allthingsthrifty.blogspot.com/

We were up to no good...

Tonight, we were up to no good....I was bored and Bry was looking for an excuse to avoid homework, so we decided to go for a walk to Costco....apparently that's what people do when they are bored. So we made our way to Costco and looked around at all the things that we can't afford.....like the biggest Christmas tree EVER or the 6-foot wooden Nutcracker decoration xoxo....I heart Christmas!!! Anyways, after convincing Bry that we needed ice cream, we embarked on the journey back home. On our way Bry decided that he wanted to go by the Canadian Tire to pick up firewood. But when I say "pick up firewood" I don't mean go into the store and by a nice little bundle of pre-chopped wood. No, we were scavenging wood from the back of the building beneath a sign that reads "Free Firewood, take at your own risk!" My interpretation of the sign?....take at your own risk because we're watching you!!!! Bryan's interpretation?.....sweet, free firewood!! So, we proceeded to carry home this monstrosity shelf thing feeling like common thieves!

Like a kid on Christmas day!!! :)

I was so sure the police were gonna come arrest us for stealing....lol

 Bella was our accomplice!!

BUT, in the end it was fun and definitley worth it!!

Thanksgiving Fun

Bryan and I spent the Thanksgiving weekend at his parent's house with two of his sisters and their families. It was such a fun weekend and we were soooo lucky to enjoy the b-e-a-utiful weather for probably the last time before winter!

We worked hard and played hard all weekend and best of all, ate tons of delicious food! I am proud to say I was getting my hands dirty digging potatoes in the garden, helping with the hay bails and herding the cows!....not just a city girl anymore!! :)

After all the work was done, the group of us had some good competition ... we played Rook, Crib, Settlers of Catan, kickball and horseshoes. I had a blast and can't wait to get together with my in-laws again!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

A Late Wedding Gift

We have been married for almost 4 months now (time sure flies!) and I am still getting wedding gifts!!! How excited do you think that makes me?? VERY! I guess if a person wants to get down to the nitty-gritty, I technically bought this gift WAY back in June with one of my wedding gift cards but it took 3 and a half months for it to FINALLY be MINE!!!

So, you may ask yourself, what is this gift that I speak of...well it is only the PINK KitchenAid stand mixer that I have wanted FOREVER!! And it gets even better...it pays to wait 3 and a half months for something.

So here is my beautiful mixer that we bought on sale at The Bay, so we didn't even pay full price to begin with. When I recieved the call that my mixer has finally arrived, I am informed that it is on sale again for even less than what I had paid back in June, so I will be receieving a giftcard with the difference of what I paid!! SWEET!! To top that off, I am also recieving the current promotional item which is a glass mixing bowl for the mixer as well as a $50.00 rebate from KitchenAid! How awesome is that? Pretty awesome. But it still gets better...

Initially, I was told it would take 2-4 weeks for my mixer to be delievered from Ontario to the store here. Well after 6 weeks I was getting a little impatient (I know, hard to believe) so we called the store to inquire what was taking so long. We were then informed that Pink KitchenAid's are in high demand and therefore I would have to wait til the middle of August. By the END of August I still had no mixer :(  It is at this time I was told that my mixer was never even shipped from the KitchenAid warehouse and so as an apology, KitchenAid would be sending me a FREE pink food processor!! Worth waiting 3 and a half months? I think so.

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Blogging!!!

Well, after months of creeping on other people's blogs and envying how much imagination and creativity is out there, I decided to take the plunge and start my own blog. I must admit that I am not exactly sure what I will even post about because if you ask me, I have a fairly uneventful life, but perhaps I just might suprise myself!

A little bit about myself, which I am really only sharing with myself considering I don't have any followers or readers since this is my very first post...oh well!!!

I am married. His name is Bryan and I love him.

I am a 3rd year Nursing student at the University of Lethbridge.

I love animals. I have a cat named Bella and two fish named Debra and Peter.

I enjoy crafts, scrapbooking, decoarting cakes, cooking and I have a new-found love of home decorating (thanks to my blog creeping over the summer)!

I am now a proud member of 2 very awesome families, with more brothers and sisters than I can count on two hands and even more nieces and nephews! What more could a person ask for? I am very blessed indeed.

(The Bullock family)

(The Matkin/Gill family)

My husband and I bought a condo this summer, our very first home! Poor guy had to sell the love of his life (no, not me...his 2007 Ford Mustang GT/CS) so that we could afford it. Thanks Bry, you're the best :)

After we took possession of our new place in mid August, we spent 2 weeks before we moved in painting and putting new carpet in the bedrooms. Now I have just been adding my own touch with my new found decorating abilities. Once it is all done I will post pictures of the finished product.

That's all for now!
